The HCC02 module is a small control unit that, by feeding the heating cables, prevents the accumulation of snow and ice on stairs, ramps and gutters.

This has:

• Interface for temperature and humidity sensor.
• Digital input to enable the controller. This allows the operation of the control unit to be disabled, it is usually connected to a timer which allows it to start at programmed intervals
• Condenser for temperature regulation via control (between 0 and +10 °C)
• The capacitor for setting the duration of the defrost cycle (0.. 5 hours).
• Button for selecting manual or automatic operation

Automatic logic operation

The defrost command is activated when the temperature drops below a threshold value (hereinafter referred to as ST).

The delay time for switching the radiator temperature sensor in obtaining the first moisture measurement is 15 seconds.

When the temperature exceeds a certain threshold value (hereinafter referred to as SU), the sensor is turned off (together with its radiator) and starts the defrost cycle for a duration equal to the time (hereinafter referred to as TC) set via the capacitor. Once started, the defrost cycle continues for the entire TC time, regardless of the temperature and humidity values. When the TC ends, it starts monitoring again to check if conditions still exist for a new defrost cycle:

Automatic logic operation excluding moisture measurement

This mode of operation only occurs when the user uses the special button to select it. The logic is similar to the one described above, with the only difference that the defrost cycle has theirs regardless of humidity.

Manual logic operation

Manual cycle occurs only when selected by the user with the special button, regardless of temperature and humidity conditions. At the end of the defrost cycle, which lasts the same as the TC, the system will reset to automatic operation.

Exclusion of moisture measurement

By pressing the MOIST OFF button, it is possible to exclude or, conversely, restore the moisture measurement. With humidity measurement excluded, to start the automatic defrost cycle, it is enough that the temperature is lower than ST. During its operation, the MOIST LED must be on

steady on: this indicates that the temperature measurement is activated

on the contrary, when it blinks, it means it is disabled.

Setting the anti-freeze activation temperature command

The ST threshold value can be adjusted by rotating the TEMP SET tuning capacitor (hereinafter referred to as TRST). The selectable temperature range is between 0°C and 10°C.

With the help of the TERM module, it is possible to display the value actually selected.

Setting the duration of the anti-freeze protection cycle

The TC duration value can be adjusted by rotating the appropriate TEMP SET adjustment capacitor (hereafter referred to as TRTC). TC can be set between 1 and 360 minutes.
