Hoppe is a family business founded by Friedrich Hoppe in 1952, HOPPE has grown into a global group based in Switzerland. The HOPPE Group develops, manufactures and sells components for doors and windows in aluminum, brass, polyamide and stainless steel, with an emphasis on capturing the ambience in every detail. Since the mid-1970s, Hoppe has been the market leader in its segment across Europe.
Hoppe Aluminum
Hoppe brand aluminum door handles are made of high quality, corrosion resistant metal alloys. The ennobling of the surfaces of HOPPE light metal handles is done by the anodizing process or by electrostatic painting. During the anodizing process, a surface protection layer (oxide layer) is obtained on the product through an oxidation process (reaction of the raw material with oxygen) triggered artificially and controlled by the use of current and sulfuric acid.
This layer protects the product from external influences such as sweating on the hands, moisture in the air and light mechanical stress. No corrosion occurs on the damaged surface, for example due to rings or keys. In the case of powder coating by means of an electrostatic process, powder is applied in a layer of varnish on the aluminum surface. Subsequently, a combustion process takes place at a temperature of 150-200oC, thus the lake particles transforming into a lake layer within a crosslinking reaction.
